Training requirements:- Secondary school leaving certificate, intermediate school leaving certificate or A-levels
- Ability to communicate and work in a team
- Good foreign language skills (world languages)
- Organizational and sales talent
- Confident and well-groomed appearance, good manners
Duration of training:3 years, shortened to 2 1/2 years if you have completed secondary school or have a high school diploma
Training content:- Welcoming, looking after and advising guests
- Preparing hotel rooms and checking their cleanliness
- Serving drinks and food
- Managing the hotel cash register
- Conducting sales talks and preparing offers
- Planning and organizing events
- Planning staff deployment, guest correspondence, merchandise management
- During the apprenticeship, you will work in various departments: service, kitchen, housekeeping and reception
Vocational school:In the first year of training, approx. 16 weeks of block teaching
In the second or third 9 weeks of block instruction
Career prospects:Hotel specialists have optimal career opportunities in almost all departments of an establishment: sales, administration, reception, floor, reservations, restaurant and banqueting. There are opportunities for promotion to head of department.
